June + July Favorites 2017

Quote of the Post:
“To plant a garden is to believe in tomorrow”- Audrey Hepburn

Hi everyone! It’s been quite awhile since I’ve posted some content for you lovely people, and I apologize for that!

I recently returned from a 2 week long sleep away camp at Boston University where I learned about nutrition and anatomy. Along with that, I had a bunch of free time which I decided to utilize by exploring the city!

But at last, it’s time that I owe everyone a post on here. So sorry I’ve been MIA for the past 2 weeks!

Let’s get to the favorites!

1. Clinique Acne Solutions Clinical Clearing Gel

I keep getting these big random pimples on my forehead and they keep bothering me, so I decided to pick this up from Sephora using my gift card from Christmas (finally!). It tightens my skin overnight, and when I wake up, my breakout is visibly smaller. Feels great, isn’t drying, and the smell isn’t gross at all!

2. Mario Badescu Facial Spray with Aloe, Herbs, and Rosewater

Perfect for hot and humid summer days where your skin just gets all sweaty and greasy and you really, really need a refresher. Smells amazing and feels amazing.

$7 for a 4 oz. bottle from Ulta

3. Vera Bradley Campus Double ID

On the fourth day of sleep away camp, I lost my dorm keys and was charged an insane amount of money. To prevent myself from ever losing my keys again, I went to Prudential Center’s Vera Bradley and bought myself this beautiful ID case. It holds just the right amount of cash and cards and even has a zip pocket for coins. Just the right thing when your making a quick run somewhere and only need you keys and wallet.

There are 20 different patterns, 13 of which are on sale right now. When I got the one above (shown in Lilac Tapestry), I received 50% off and only paid $12. However, the price online states that it’s $16.80.

4. Hollister Caged Scoop Bikini Top

Let me just say that, I’m not that big of a beach person, but this summer, I’m ready to get my tan on. Last time I bought a bikini was 2 years ago and it was definitely time for an upgrade. Luckily, Hollister was having a swim sale, so I bought this set for only $31 instead of the $50 that I would have originally. I also unexpectedly walked out of the store with another bikini top for $5 instead of $25.

The print is so cute and the material is so comfy. If you don’t like this style of bikini top, browse their website! They have a ton of swimsuits on sale right now since it’s almost August. Unfortunately, this exact pair is back to full price 😦

Bottom: $16.95 here

5. Nike Benassi Slides

Another item that I used a Christmas gift card on! These slides are so comfy and cool. The strap is cushioned on the underside so you don’t have to worry about getting a blister. These are perfect for when you’re wearing sweats and need to run errands but are wayyyy too lazy to change.

$25 at Nike

6. Anklets

Lately, I’ve been absolutely obsessed with anklets. All you have to do is take a bracelet that’s way too big for your wrists, or buy an actual anklet, and rock it around your ankle! They spice up any outfit composed of shorts and sandals/flip flops and make you look really put together. I’m lazy and like to go for the beaded ones that I can just slip on around my ankle. Above, I’ve featured a blue beach-y style one and a more fancy/chic jeweled one.

Rhinestone Anklet for $3.90 from Forever 21

7. PacSun LA Hearts Crystal Round Sunglasses

I got these sunglasses on sale for only $8 (originally $16.95) they’re so classic but have a little twist to them. Even though the name suggests that they’re round, trust me, they aren’t as round as you’d think. They go with pretty much any outfit. However, the lens’ aren’t mirrored so just a warning.

8. Yoga

This is kind of random, but do you guys remember when I told you all about the June Academy that ran during the last 2 weeks of school? I forget if I mentioned that I took yoga, but here I am telling you again!

5 days, 3 hours a day later, I am obsessed with yoga. It’s perfect for any time of the day and for anything. Maybe you’re someone who likes to take their mornings slowly but still get a workout in. Maybe you just ate a big lunch/dinner and need to get a workout in but have too much food sitting in your stomach. Or maybe you’re trying to de-stress after a long day/week/year of work (school in my case, haha).

Whatever your motivation is, find it and keep thinking of it while you do your first yoga flow. You might hate it at first or you might love it. Keep your intention in mind as you discover all the benefits that there is to yoga. You’ll love it, I promise

9. Cappuccinos

After going to Europe and having a cup of cappuccino for the first time, I fell in love and ordered again 3 more times. Whether it was morning or the afternoon, I was up for a hot cuppa. Now, let me just say that I’ve always been more of a tea person, not coffee. But there’s something about cappuccinos, probably the foam, that just makes me love it.

AHHHHH you guys! I finally was able to try this vegan hotspot for the first time! I’ve been craving their 100% vegan guac burger and air baked sweet potato fries ever since September! Luckily for me, their Fenway location was just a 15 minute walk from my dorm at Boston University.

Even though I was forced to wait 45 minutes after ordering (because I had to walk back to my dorm and shower), the burger and fries were delicious! The guac burger features a black bean and sweet potato patty (the perfect combo IMO) and their air baked sweet potato fries are so so so indulgent without the extra oil!

I’d also like to mention that they have 2 types of dips: beet ketchup and chipotle aioli. I personally liked the chipotle aioli better because the beet ketchup was too sweet for my taste buds. But the 2 dips were both great!

After this experience, I felt complete. I got to indulge but still felt good because I knew that the ingredients I was consuming were whole, all natural, and vegan.

Wow! I think this favorites posts is my best one yet! I genuinely love every single item on this list! I’m also very proud of myself for actually going out and purchasing new products to try. A lot of the purchases were sales, too!

Love you guys and remember: be confident!

Happy summer,
❀ Anissa ❀
